Automatic referencing tool
This portfolio showcase examines the development and digital application of automated referencing software within higher education. Developed as part of the Learning in the Digital Era assignment in Swansea, United Kingdom, this task demonstrates how modern bibliographic tools streamline citation management.
Topic 1 Forming a Team
Trust in me
Trust is a foundation for teamwork and what it is built on virtually or in person. It is built upon countless hours of working with people to create an environment where everyone can rely on each other [1]. There are many struggles to online teamwork including a lack of face-to-face contact which leads to strained interactions, and it has been shown to make developing trust harder [[2]. However, by promoting good teamworking habits communication becomes easier especially with the development of more online tools.
Getting to know you.
When in an online team getting to know the people, you're working with is a crucial aspect of that team running smoothly, you need to know what they do and if they might need extra help at times. Authenticity is key when getting to know your teammates, being yourself has been shown to reduce peoples stress and keep employee wellbeing high [3]. Moreover, if you pretend to know more than you do due to shame or anxiety, it can affect the teams work and lead to poor communication and less work being finished in a timely manner [3]. On the other hand, understanding individual ability can progress the sharing of responsibility.
We are forming.
The fast framework consists of four objectives for each letter. They consist of:
F - Frequently discussed, talk about the progress you've made and review goals.
A - Ambitious, make sure you set achievable targets
S - Specific, make sure the targets are clear.
T - Transparent, allow your team to view a projects progress.
The main benefit to this frame is to make sure the team understands and sets achievable goals while being able to view the progress [4]. Moreover, as they go through the targets it will be easy to track and resolves mistakes [4].
Referencing tool
The referencing tool I have decided to use is endnote fusion as it is a versatile tool that can be used to create projects where you can then organise and store references for different tasks and assignments.
This figure represents the list of some of the references that was used for this project. (fig 1)
This figure shows how you can create your own references manually (fig 2)
You can also use the built-in extension for the browser to upload the references that is the saved to the project (fig 3)
This is where you can search for individual references and how you can find projects/folders. (fig 4)
